Tek Tip 2sD - Electric vs Hybrid vs Gasoline vs Diesel

Electric vehicles like the Baker Electric from 1905 and the Zero FXS use only a batteries and electric motors.



In this video, Jay Leno compares modern and old electric cars:


Hybrids, like the Toyota Prius and Locomotives, use a gas or diesel engine AND electric motors with batteries.


Then there's the ordinary gas and diesel engines.  Diesel in the US is more expensive and more fuel efficient but since it's not as refined, emissions tend to be dirtier.  Almost half of all new vehicles purchased in Europe are diesel.  Different place.
