Freaky Fzx Friday - Manhattan Project Part 2

Link to Manhattan Project Part 1

Here is uranium fusion.

Those excess neutrons released can split other nuclei and cause a chain reaction if there is a high enough density of fissible material - a "critical mass."

Tek Tip 2sD - 3 Knots

Ratchet straps are common now but I grew up with my Dad roping everything together with knots.  Here are three that I use on a regular basis.

Breaking News - Gravity Waves on Freaky Fzx Friday

How long after a huge solar storm will we see it?

If the sun were to wink out of existence, how long would it take for earth to be affected?

8 minutes.  Light takes 8 minutes to reach earth and no signal of any kind can travel faster than light.  Einstein's Special and General Theories of Relativity.

Tek Tip 2sD - Spoken Grammar

I want to get a job.  I want to present myself as a professional.  I want to speak well.

Starting with a firm handshake, good eye contact, and a smile, I remember that if I got the interview I already qualify on paper.

Sometimes the only thing that separates me from another job candidate is my ability to speak so I want to practice my professional lingo on a regular basis.

Following are some common spoken errors:

"Where you at?" - "Where are you" - get rid of the "at"

"Would OF, could OF, should OF
"Would HAVE, could HAVE, Should HAVE"

"I think I seen you yesterday."  - "I think I SAW you yesterday."

It was also in the early thirties that James Chadwick finally discovered the neutron.  Just like those men and their visions changed our world, that neutral particle was the key to many future discoveries in nuclear science.

Tek Tip 2sD - Oscillating Multi-Tool

If you weren't in class today, you missed it!

(not my belly)

There was a lot of panic today when I "accidentally" tried to cut my arm just after chopping a piece of wood.  Those oscillating multitools are great at cutting hard objects but they just grab soft skin and vibrate it back and forth.  The one pictured above is for autopsies and heart surgery.
