Tek Tip 2sD - 3 Knots

Ratchet straps are common now but I grew up with my Dad roping everything together with knots.  Here are three that I use on a regular basis.

The Knot

The Knot Loop - for making a loop that doesn't collapse.  Great for lashing and tightening.

Square Knot - for joining two rope ends that are the same diameter.

Shoelace sans Square Knot - If your shoelaces annoy you because they look like this:

Shoelace with Square Knot - use a square knot to make them look like this:

Ratchet straps are good.  Rope and string are good.  I have a collection of old shoelaces that I use for interesting projects but the above knots are the only ones I ever use.  Thanks, Dad.
